Prescott: Arizona's Old West Capital

Prescott holds a special place in Arizona history as the state's original territorial capital, and its downtown still radiates the kind of Old West character that most towns can only imitate. Back in town, the antique shops along Cortez Street and Montezuma Street are a treasure hunter's dream, stocked with Western memorabilia, vintage furniture, and one-of-a-kind finds.

The town's calendar is packed with events that celebrate its heritage, including the World's Oldest Rodeo held every Fourth of July since 1888. Prescott manages to honor its past without feeling stuck in it.
