Built into the hillside at the western edge of the Verrado master-planned community in Buckeye, this series of stone steps climbs 400 vertical feet in just a quarter mile, creating an intense stair-climbing workout with sweeping views of the west Valley and White Tank Mountains. The steps were constructed as part of the Verrado community's trail system and have become a popular fitness destination that draws people from across the west side of the Valley.

The construction is sturdy, with large stone steps set into the natural hillside. There are roughly 300 steps total, broken into several sections with small flat rest areas between them. Metal handrails line portions of the steeper sections.

Starting from Main Street in the Verrado town center, you walk a short distance to the base of the steps. The climb begins immediately and does not let up. The steps are spaced at a comfortable height, but the sheer quantity and sustained vertical gain make this a serious cardiovascular workout.

Your heart rate will be elevated within the first few minutes, and by the halfway point, most people are breathing hard. It feels like climbing the stairwell of a 40-story building, except you are outdoors with increasingly beautiful views behind you. As you ascend, the panorama of the west Valley unfolds.
